Needs management
Food and water are easiest to manage when you measure them as a route problem, then leave a buffer for combat and weather.
Measure before you optimize
Record food and water at the start of a quiet session. After a known number of minutes, record them again. Use the same creature, growth stage, activity, and weather when comparing runs.
Plan the safe window
Divide the amount consumed by the minutes elapsed to get an observed drain rate. The planner uses those observations to estimate how long your current reserves can support a session; it does not claim to reproduce an unpublished game formula.
Keep a return buffer
A route that works only when everything goes perfectly is not safe. Reserve time and resources for detours, a fight, a weather event, or a missed resource node.
Separate food from water
The lower reserve is the constraint. Treat food and water as separate timers, because reaching one source does not guarantee that the other need is solved.
Recheck after updates
Balance changes, creature changes, growth stages, and seasonal systems can alter a route. Re-measure after a patch instead of copying old numbers.
Field checklist
Observe
Record the starting condition and the exact route.
Buffer
Leave room for a detour or a fight.
Recheck
Repeat after patches, growth, or weather changes.

FAQ
Does the Survival Run Planner use official Creatures of Sonaria formulas?
No. It uses only the values you enter from your current creature and session. The game does not publish a complete universal drain formula on the checked official listing.
What should I measure in game first?
Record food and water before a route, wait a known number of minutes, then record both again. Use the same creature, growth stage, weather state, and activity when possible.
